Hey I’m Eshan! I’m a Sri Lankan based in Hong Kong.

I have a background in biotech, and I am passionate about the intersection of biotech and business to build a better food system.

As my full-time job, I work at Better Bite Ventures, a venture capital investment firm backing early-stage (ideation, pre-seed, seed) startups in Asia-Pacific, building technologies to decarbonise the food system. I’m very fortunate to have a full-time job that complements this newsletter (and coincidentally has a similar name)!

The way we currently produce food is at the heart of many global challenges, from climate change and food insecurity to public health crises and pandemics. To feed the growing global population within the limits of our planet, we need to rethink how we produce food from the ground up.

This newsletter is a very nerdy, niche, passion project of mine. I started this newsletter to share what I'm learning and connect with others passionate about the future of food, enabled by biotech. If that sounds like you, reach out!
